Steps to reproduce:

Open _common_data/scenarios/msa/big_aln.fa file as an alignment.
In the appeared dialog select the "Join sequences into alignment and open in multiple alignment view" option.
Click "OK".
In the Alignment Editor select "Statistics->Generate distance matrix" in the context menu.
In the appeared dialog click "Generate".
Expected state: a notification message about low memory appears.
Current state: there are no any messages. The application performs a small percentage of the task (2-5%) and hangs.

Note, that in 1.26.1 release there is also no notification dialog, if we run the test manually.
